a little over a month ago i started a new job as a waitress. three weeks ago the managers hired a bartender named jon. he's 27 years old. we're pretty close but recently we've started to flirt...a lot, lol. and it's getting to the point that something serious might be going on, but there's something i'm not to sure about.

i'm 17, which is the legal age of consent in illinois, but if we ended up doing something could he get in trouble because he's 10 years older than i am?

please give me an answer.

As long as you're over the age of consent, it's legal - no matter how old the guy is.

the real problem here is that he's 27 and you're 17 and you're co-workers.

Yeah, as illusional says, it's not really serious so much as he just wants some sex. I can't answer your question other than to say if it's illegal, he won't have a problem unless someone tells the authorities. But yeah, it's just a sex thing and it's not serious for him.

Putting aside the fact that he is too old for you, I don't think it is wise to have meaningless flings with co-workers. It makes going to work very awkward, especially when you stop seeing each other.
