Love and Games
Love is like a basketball game
You shoot,
You miss,
It’s all so lame
Dribbling down the court,
Full speed ahead,
You go so fast,
It leaves tracks on their heads.
Every time
I take my aim,
The ball goes flying
And it makes me take the blame.
We’re all in it together,
Shooting for the ones we love,
We hope they never look
Cause we always push and shove.
The rim is left open,
All the opponents behind you,
Your crush cheers you on,
But then all we do is rue.
It takes quite enough,
Wanting the one we want,
Even if it takes the rest of our lives,
To finish off the hunt.
With the basket clear open,
Rim and all,
The opponent pushes you,
And then you’re left to fall.
The referee gives you one last chance,
To get the one you love,
Then the next moment you’re at your marriage,
To find doves flying above.
