I think traditionally guys always asked girls out because it was masculine and the social rule. More and more these days you see women asking men out and tbh I would love if a girl came up to me and asked me out for a change. Our generation is so different than our parents.....

since you were stressing out in your lab or department or what ever, it is much easier to randomly just invite him to be with you for lunch or what so ever

i mean, you can start over to ask being with him on a regular break you have, such as recess or lunch.. or if you saw him on a cafeteria, just approach and share tables..

start casually, because this is where you will know if you really want to go out with him on a real date for only the two of you,,


also talk about what you do in your lab and have the flow of conversation go on and on,, until you will be confident to one another to ask for personal questions 'yu
