basically my friend is hooking me up with someone.
so. where should she and i go ???and do???
i mean...... if i knew her from school or work. it wouldn't be so weird.
so.. what could we do together to feel more friendly. (except drinking)

Are you a pretty good conversationalist? If you are, going out for coffee would be ideal- casual, but lots of opportunity to get to know her.

If you're not so articulate, take her to a movie. You get to sit next to her for an hour and a half, and you don't have to say a word.

If you know the girl at all, you might want to consider if she is articulate.. if she isn't a movie is best. If she is, take her to a coffee place (like Giga said) and let her talk for an hour. You don't want to make the girl feel uncomfy.

(If in doubt, go with the movie)
