    he still has bad memories

So the Ex got me back (flowers/note, apologising for the past etc). Tells me losing me was the biggest mistake of his life etc.

then - the weekend just gone - he cancels all our plans, I tried to call him, no answer.

he then sent me a text last night saying "I'm sorry, I still have bad memories".

what on earth to think of that?

He obviously wasn't as ready as he thought.

I think he sounds like a guy that can't sort out his shit.

You don't need this kind of drama, do you? Let him go and find someone who KNOWS he wants to be with you.

well, we're meeting up tnite to talk about things.

he emailed me - I just emailed back saying I'm willing to talk, I understand he's nervous about things, but its not my job to reassure him all the time. Also said I've reached my limit in terms of my emotions being toyed with - for me its all or nothing now.

I'm a little apprehensive about seeing him though

Show him how it's done. Break up with him decisively, with no chance of a reconciliation and never speak to him again. If there's anything you want to give back to him or anything he'll use as an excuse to see you in the future, bring it with you tonight and just give it right back.

Make it short, to the point, and then walk away. You don't owe this guy anything, and after the way he's treated you repeatedly, you'd be a fool to expect anything from him but more of the same.

A saying in Spanish says: "chiste repetido suena a podrido". A sort of translation would be: "A repeated joke ain't funny at all."

Bottom line: If you broke up for a reason, that reason doesn't go away when you 'give yourselves another chance'.

Mum used to tell me this: Forgive the first mistake, she deserves a second chance. Never forget the second, a true man can never be that fool.

Yeah, I guess my mother would get along very well with Giga...

Walk away...If you get back with him you're just going to get even more hurt. He doesn't seem all that stable with himself

    hmm. well thats all sorted.

now we have another stumbling block - he's having some problems - family, house, stockmarket, and is going into his man-cave and wanting space.

I'm thinking he has serious 2nd thoughts and doesn't know how to tell me?

Give him all the space that he needs.

I havn't spoken to him in the past week - I actually don't know how to respond.

The logical me says - kick him to the curb.

The other me - your guy is in trouble, he has told me what wrong, a good partner should be there to support him through thick and thin.

Its weird - not sure whether I'm just being treated liek crap or he's actually doing the right "manly" thing and dealing with his problems solo.

He seems confused. Tell him to shit or get off the pot and stop wasting your precious time.
