Online and offline as well?

Hey there i will try to make it short:

I've known this guy in the states for almost 8 years online. We are both now turning 23. We are pretty good friends, can have deep conversations and quite open to each other. For a few times weve talked about meeting the other when there comes a chance when we were younger.

Yet, in the past few years, we do not really talk about it anymore coz when we get older, we realize its not something easy to do. Esp I live in Asia. Its not just a flight ticket but also other risks and time factor....

There will be a chance when i have a 2 week off and money. Do you think we shoudl *finally* meet up? But I dont want it to look like I go there just for him making it a bit confused to him maybe. (but its true coz i was not really interested in going otherwise) Should I ask him first? How?

I guess it depends on what it is you are expecting, and of course what is it that you want, which aren't always the same.

You could easily just not go, but years from now will you wonder what would have happened? What would you give to go back and take those random chances you had when you were at the crossroads?
If you two were having deep conversations, I'd think you'd be just able to go, "So... what are you cooking me for breakfast when I come visit?"

But that's just my two pence...
