Urgent Girl Help Needed.

Now this is my first post, and mind you, I'm only a freshman in High School.

There is this girl at my school named Shanelle. We are kindof friends, but kindof aquaintances. This girl is absolutely stunning. She's funny and cool, and has the most fun personality I've ever seen a girl have.

I know she doesn't have a BF, and I wanted to ask her out. But we are not really in touch anymore, I usually just catch a couple glimpses of her a day. But now at after school sports practices, I see her all the time.

She seems to be more on the lines of a prep, where as I am sort of in the middle of everything. Not a prep, not a jock, not emo or goth or a nerd. Just in the middle.

I've convinced myself that I need to do it soon, before we lose touch completely. The only problem is, I've never been around a girl I was afraid to make myself sound stupid in front of until now.

I don't know how to go about asking her out. I was originally planning on the classic romantic movie speech you know? Then I was like, that's retarded.

I want to ask her out, I just don't know how to go about doing it, and I've had gf's before too.

I did exactly those lines a few weeks back on a girl at the register in a shop where I bought a shirt. Only instead of movie I asked her out to a coffee

Never say, "You can't blame a guy for trying" if she has a boyfriend. Say something funny or clever that will leave a lasting impression. Something like, "Oh, he can come. He likes coffee too, right?" or, "Well tell him I said hi!" and smile and wink. Anything other than that. You never want to sound defeated.

Anyway, OP, are you really all that worried about sounding like an idiot in front of a girl named,,, Shanelle?

Okay, that was bitchy. I apologize. Anyway, she's almost certainly got a Facebook profile you could check out, right? Knowledge is power, and you might want to find out what her relationship status is for sure before you ask her out.

If you can do it without coming off as stalkerish, I think you should try to engineer a chance encounter somewhere. Do you have any idea where she hangs out, besides at sports practice, where she is surrounded by friends?
