Opposite of Pet Peeve (Little Joys)

Hi All! I had a discussion with some friends/family a while back, where we were trying to determine what the opposite of "pet peeve" was... since there isn't an official term for it, I like to call them "little joys".

To inspire positive energy and feelings of gratitude for the things in life that may seem insignificant, but stimulate feelings of "little joys".

    Here's a few of mine:

    - the smell of onions and garlic sauteeing on the stove
    - the sound of a unique laugh
    - the shivers I get when I listen to an amazing singer blow me away with their talent
    - breaking the "smooth" of a new jar of jam or peanut butter

Now I want to hear all of your "little joys"!

    Yehesss! I love that.

I also love drinking a cold drink while taking a hot shower... usually alcoholic, but not always.

    - Waking up to realize you still have plenty of time left to sleep.
    - Waking up and feeling really well rested and realizing that your alarm hadn't even gone off yet, so not only do you have extra time you weren't expecting, but you feel like you got a great sleep.
    - That first sip of a beverage when you are really thirsty.
    - The screams of my victims.
    - Waking up and starting my day with a movie.
    - Finishing up everything I have to do that day (my workout, making my lunch, shaving, etc.) and realizing I have hours of time left to just do whatever I want.
    - Bringing my enemies' deepest darkest fears to life.
    - Watching a show or movie you loved as a kid that you find still gives you that child-like joy.

....I may have been kidding about one or two of those. :-P

    In close comparison to THE:

    - waking up late on a work day, but realizing that it's actually a weekend and you don't have to go to work!

    - watching couples I don't know argue in public

    - Getting a package in the mail.

I don't know why, but it is still just so much fun. For some reason, even though it is something I ordered so I know what it is and when it is coming, it still gives me that excitement almost like being a little kid on Christmas. LOL!

I love receiving things in the mail! Especially anything I order from Amazon/other online stores; but nothing is better than getting an old-fashioned letter/card from my mom or brother out on the East Coast!

    Anything involving water

A cold glass with ice on a hot day. Refreshing.
Standing under the shower extra long letting the water run through your hair in the morn or after exercising.
Swimming with friends in the summer.

    - Discovering a new fandom (a new movie/TV show/etc. that you enjoy) and finding all the groovy merchandise you can collect for it.
    - Figuring out the solution to a particularly troubling problem you have been struggling with for a while.
    - Cats in people clothing. LOL!

    - sounds that sound like other things... i.e. rain that sounds like bacon frying in a pan; wind blowing through the trees that sounds like cows mooing; traffic in the distance that sounds like a crowd going wild at a concert

Cat purrs and sneaky little kitty kisses on my face or hand when I am not expecting them
