Have I asked him out?!

So I've been working with this guy for about 6 months, we chat casually but not that much. I sent him a message the other day to ask if he wanted to go for a drink sometime and he said yes and put a 'x' at the end. I did ask as a friend but considering we don't actually know each other that well, is it possible that he thinks that I've asked him out? When we do meet, how will I know whether it's meant to be a date or just something casual?

If you have to ask that question then you probably haven't. If you are interested in it being a date, make a move to define it as such before you meet up. If you don't want it to be a date, bring a friend along and let him know you are join to. That will let him know that he isn't in for an intimate evening.

It sounds like a date. If you go for a drink, be careful how much you drink. I have seen more girls do things they later regretted because they had too much to drink. Also it is best to avoid workplace romances because they become awkward and uncomfortable later.

Mmm thanks, it looks like I've probably given him the impression that I've asked him out on a date then - I guess it's not entirely a bad thing if he's said yes!
