Low libido and birth control pill

For the seven days where I take the sugar pills my libido is normal, but otherwise it's pretty much dead. And I get a bit moody. Does anyone else get this problem with ortho tricyclen or any other B/c? Is there anything that can reverse this?

It is very common to have reduced libido on birth control pills. The only sure cure is to quit taking them, but even then, it takes up to a year to return to normal. You could try asking your physician to try a different type of pill... there are tons of them.

BTW - it isn't the 7 day break that is improving your libido... that is just the time your hormones are naturally elevated.

yes im a guy- all i can say is..... tell this to your doctor, they are pro's, it is why they get paid the $$$.

Ask your medico about a lower dose pill, like Alesse.

Check with your DR. Im on Deprovera, the shot and Ive found ZERO side effects with it. It seems as though my sex drive is higher than when I was on the pill. No periods no PMS no bloating. Its so wonderful!

But more than that, I hate when stupid people reproduce themselves.

Looks like it's pretty much unanymous. Ask your doctor for a different method of b/c or even just a lower-dose pill.

Geez, I probably ought to do the same, come to think of it. No shots or things that need to be inserted inside me though. I'm a wuss about that kind of stuff.

Anyone have any recommendations for a lower-dose pill? I'm on Yasmin, and have been for about 3 years now. I really like it, except for more mood swings and lowered libido.

My PMS was less when I was using BCC. Enough such that when I went off the pill, my husband was threatening to make me preggers again, lol.
