Valentines Day Doings

I'm going to preface this by saying that until my wife, I NEVER participated in Valentine's Day. I loathed the "Hallmark Holiday". I felt that doing something on the day you were supposed to completely negated the point... but with my wife I absolutely love expressing my love for her and never miss an opportunity to do so. Last year I sent her a card - it was the first time in 25 or 30 years I'd done so.

This year I bought her a coffee mug with hearts on the outside with wrapped hard candy inside it, and a card that says:

Outside -

To My Loving Wife

Inside -

It's one thing to be in love,
it's another thing to be good friends...

And it's a wonderful thing
to be madly in love
with my best friend!

We're still debating what we're going to do for Valentines Day - bowling, roller skating (and dinner) or maybe just stay home and watch a Babylon 5 marathon. I've recently acquired the rest of the DVD's and can't wait to introduce my wife to 'em.

Well, there is some element of 'gag' to your post (in a teenager sort of way). But I doubt anyone thinks you should apologize for it. Actually, I find it amusing and cute. Its not the kind of thing one typically hears adults doing... that doesn't mean tho that maybe we should do it--at least a little bit--more. This is one of those "if you don't like it, piss off" threads, I think.

Curious tho, does your wife do equally cute things for you?
