    Shoulder pain

I went to the gym this morning, halfway through my session I noticed my shoulder was hurting a little, i ignored it and carried on. As the day went on the pain has been getting worse and now it is almost unbearable. I cant move my arm out in front of me, behind me or even up to my face without excruciating pain (sharp stabbing kind) shooting right the way down my arm, even when i keep my arm still the pain really is horrendous and unrelenting. I cant even cough or swallow without pain.
I tried to soak in a bath but even laying down was bad so i didnt stay in it long!
Ive done myself various injuries but nothing that has felt like this, any ideas what it could be/what to do ?

Maybe it's your radial nerve. Overuse of that area can cause irritation, even nerve damage. As a precaution, you may want to schedule a doctor's appointment this week. Either with a general practitioner or a neurologist. It could subside, but if this is nerve damage, there's always a risk of permanently losing range of mobility among other things. So the sooner you are treated the better.

Best to make an appointment for a doctor.. Sounds that your shoulder needs some treatment.

My bf has the same problem, especially since you mentioned lifting at the gym. My bf went into a free session for physical therapy it helped a lot. I help him stretch his arm now but that probably means something is out of place in your arm. You need to let it rest for a couple days and go to the doctor they should be able to show you some stretches that will help
