This is a pretty obvious indication that she's not interested in you. It doesn't matter that she doesn't really have one, she told you she did, meaning she doesn't want to go out with you.

I wouldn't even ask her again, the message was very clear.

I am probably in the minority, but I am a female that absolutely hates talking on the phone. I don't mind being asked out over text... but I don't like being asked out for that very same night. Makes me feel like an afterthought. If you really like this girl, shoot her a text and ask her if she has a boyfriend outright. If she says no, ask her if you can take her out this weekend.
