Are we still even dating??? ADVICE NEEDED

Me and this guy have been dating for about 3months but he hasnt contacted me since July (so almost 2 months of not speaking AT ALL) - he does have alot of problems in his life that keep him busy and for a while his phone wasnt working but Im not sure if its been fixed yet or not as we haven't spoken!

Its hard not to feel distant after not speaking for 2months as we spoke everyday before this - I have tried to message/call him with no reply

Recently I have realised that on whatsapp I cant see when he was last online but I can with all of my other contacts - does this mean he has blocked me? however when I sent him a message two ticks appeared?

And considering all his problems should I give him the chance to explain or just take the hint before I see him?
(I will see him in a month as we start college again and we all hang out in a group!)
