    Physical pain vs. emotional pain

Which do you think is worse? If I tried to imagine hell, I would picture it as the feeling of emptiness and hopelessness that I feel now multiplied by at least a thousand. Suicidal thoughts pass through my mind, but I know they're not the answer. I'll wait a bit and maybe detail should any of you wish.
So, back on topic.. which one's worse?

the futility and ultimate end of existence and experience AND the cruel joke that having someone means you have someone to lose

emotional pain is for sure harder, at least for me it is
You post, you ask questions, you give facts --> I reply, I give quotations, I have opinions

Definitely emotional pain is worse. People who are physically ill look forward to feeling better. People in emotional/spiritual pain fall into despair and often look forward to dying.

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

depends on the person and their ability to cope. For me, physical pain is worse since the only times when I feel pain usually results in a permanent scar. Emotions have no affect on me because I am easily able to detach myself from reality. Unfortunately, I can't make scars disappear

Physical pain is worse. I'd rather have my heart broken than poke myself with my damn soldering iron again.
I've actually gotten really sick and I've had physical pain caused by stress, though, so that's certainly powerful, too.

    Fixed your post.

Also, I think emotional pain is worse.

Without solid examples it's hard to say which one is worse. The worst physical pain (when your organs are rotting from the inside) and emotional pain (grieving for a family who tragicly passed away) are just uncomparable.

P.S. It's interesting to see that guys in this thread chose physical pain, while girls chose emotional.

When I started the thread, I was feeling so bad I would've said emotional pain.
Right now, feeling much better, I'd rather have my "heart" torn to pieces rather than my limbs.. ouch. But I guess it's hard to say without being more specific when making the comparison.

Emotional pain. Physical pain can always heal, and although emotional pain can heal too, emotional pain takes much longer as the scars can often be deeper and much more painful. And yeah. Don't kill yourself. Suicide is never the answer. There's too much to live for and too much to see in the world. There's no point dying at such a young age. So- you should live.
