Breaking Bad

Sorry if there's already been a thread on this tv show.

Is anybody else into it?

I am deeply touched by this show and by the main character Walter.

I am just starting to watch the first season and find every moment gripping.

I also think this show so perfectly fits with our difficult times.

In France we do have a new expression 'Poor working people' (literal translation, probably not the best) but it refers to the fact now that people although they have a job can't afford a decent living. Rents are too high, salaries remain low....

Walter is a Chemistry teacher. But has to cumulate 2 other jobs so that his family is comfortable. In spite of this he has a crap Health Insurance.

The fact that Walter is played but the excellent actor who was Malcom's father in Malcom in the middle makes him even more endearing.

I recommend it.

I haven't seen it at all this season, but the first season was incredible. Intelligent, touching, scary and the character development was amazing!

ETA: Sookie, in the U.S. we use the term "the working poor", which means exactly the same thing.

I find it terrible that people can work hard and still not make a decent living...sad times!

Breaking Bad makes a good job at showing that these dreadful contredictions can lead people to crime.
