Assuming my best friend was female if I fell in love with her I'd never act on that emotion. A best friend is far too valuable to throw away and that's exactly what I'd be doing if I ever had sex with her. With almost absolute certainty we'd break up and come to dislike each other immensely.

[My Advice]

gribble if you were in love with her I'd doubt you wouldn't act on it. Also, you don't always break up. If you are really committed and already very close that improves the chances a lot. nor do you have to hate the person afterward if there was no abuse or betrayal.
