When is a good age to consider marriage

Ok before you say Im too young andd stuff, I just wanted your opinion on a good age cuz I wouldnt get married now its way too early. Say you're with someone for a very long time from 17 and you plan to stay together. When is a good age, in your opinion, to consider marriage. Thanks

I think that depends very much on whether you plan to stay in a very supportive community that will help hold your marriage together. If you have tons of family around and they'll be there to help, you can get married young, like 21, but if you're planning to make it just the two of you alone, you should wait until you're 30 or so.

That's some very good logic. I never quite considered that for those reasons.

Y'know, I've been torn because I love the idea of having family, but I hate the idea of being strapped down to one place right now. Sometimes I still wish I was in AmeriCorps...

No, in fact one of the reasons why we're so compatible is because of our shared volunteer history, and our continued interest in volunteering in the future.

I've looked up the volunteer opportunities here in Lawton, Oklahoma, and they're very limited. Plus, both of us with our shitty jobs, and long distance...by the time the weekend comes around, we'd rather just hang out.

NOLA would be perfect because we'll be living in volunteer central. With our connections to Hands On New Orleans, we might be able to be weekend project leaders. I don't know if I'll do volunteering full-time like before, because it's hard to grow financially, and the work/conditions aren't always ideal, but once I get my feet grounded with a reasonable job in a place like New Orleans, volunteering on a regular basis will be cake.

Anyway, to stay on topic, I could definitely see myself marrying this girl after about 2 more years. I feel like anything before then would be too hasty. That would make me...about 23-24.

I guess that's still younger than what's considered reasonable these days. But I've never been one to give a fúck about any of that.

    I agree with this

It's the age when you are mature enough to know what you want out of life and handle the pressure of a married life and (ussually) have enough saved up to live independatly/interdependently smoothly.

    Ideally, 28+ for a female, 30+ for a male.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
