so whenever I try to have an avatar it says this is not a valid image file : (

I shrink the size and copy the URL.

I had a bitch of a time adding mine ( got same message you got and I resized the one I wanted 3 times and wouldn't work so I gave up) and tbh then went and found one I didn't even want but it was small enough to fit the limited specs required on here. Find a avvie you want and give it to the mods or admin and have them access your account and add it they should be able to get it added or pick a really small image like I did and it will work.

Windows can resize it to what you need by left clicking on the photo on your computer. The require something that is 100x100 or 50x50 I think which is real tiny.....pain in the ass. It was never like this before until they switched servers.

Can I email someone may photo and they can resize it and send it back to me?

I don't think you'll get anyones email to resize it for you why don't you do what hatesthis told you regarding the mods/admin?
Or you can use a tool like this link and do it yourself or post the image in this thread and have someone reduce it for you.
