So (23) I befriended a girl (25 years old) over a 3 month period and we got pretty close. we never really hung out much because of distance.

anyways, my friend also knows her and they seem to talk a lot. he showed me their convos and she seems to talk a lot. however, when we text or chat, she texts short answers and old inside jokes of ours. even when we meet she acts all strange (nervous?) and tries to talk about inside jokes that made us laugh (getting kind of old). she seems more relaxed with my friend. why is that?
