Designing a coming back

I knew a girl from long time ago who obviously liked me a lot. So last year I called her and asked her out, but I wasn't feeling very well at that time and was quite impolite, so we failed to meet. I haven't talked with her often until a few days ago, and I'm pretty sure she's still interested. I want to restart working on her this time, but it's a little awkward to start off...you guys any suggestion?
