Well, here in australia there's a fair amount of students who choose to work in brothels, not sure what the asian/local split is for that but just as in Canada the tuition fees for international students are pretty massive, so that's definitely one reason.

Having a student visa in Canada doesn't entitle a person to work. You have to apply for a work visa, and they may not give it to you if they think your parents have enough $ (y'know, since they're paying massive fees for their kids to get their schooling overseas).
