Survey Finds Details Of Sexual Behavior

Forty-two percent of teenagers who say they are virgins are waiting to meet the right person, according to a study by Teen People magazine.

The publication surveyed more than 4,000 virgins and 1,500 non-virgins between the ages of 12 and 24, asking different questions to each group.

Forty-two percent of those who are sexually active say they are in love.

Thirty-nine percent of the virgins have taken a pledge to save sex for marriage. Only 6 percent of that group said they have given and received oral sex.

Among those who are sexually active, 41 percent of the girls started having sex at 13 or 14; 35 percent started at 15 or 16, and 23 percent began at 17 or 18.

Sixty-four percent said they were happy about their decision, though only 34 percent of the girls are still with their first partners.

Sixty-five percent said that their parents still think they are virgins.

Thirty-two percent say they use condoms every time, but 13 percent never do

I read that with a terrified look on my face. That, and the low rate of condom use. I don't know what kind of sex ed you guys have where YOU live, but our local schools have been hijacked by right-wing nuts who tell kids to just say no to sex and exploit the failure rate of condoms.

Kids w/no self esteem + no sex education + no supervision - condoms = high rate of STDs and unplanned pregnancy.
