[News] Unpaid Spanish air hostesses strip in protest

(Reuters) - Flight attendants owed up to nine months' wages by a grounded Spanish airline have posed nude for a calendar to draw attention to their plight, one of the cabin crew turned models said on Wednesday.

The calendar, numerous excerpts of which appeared in the Spanish media, shows the Air Comet attendants, all female, posing provocatively in and outside airline cabins, and in one case on top of a jet turbine.

"We are just demanding our rights to receive what is ours, we each have eight or nine months of unpaid salaries," attendant Adriana Ricardo, who appears in the calendar, told Reuters.

Air Comet, run by the embattled chairman of Spain's main employers' association CEOE, Gerardo Ferran, filed for administration in December after a British court impounded nine of its aircraft at the request of German bank HSH Nordbank.

I know the company, but never heard of anything related to this story.

I don't know if it's big or small, but it's been on the news in the last year because they were about to bankrupt or something.

Aaaah , so it's because I don't watch spanish news hehehe . I recently re-discovered spanish tv. I have found channels like axn,fox and cosmopolitan, where they play american tv series nonstop, so I use the original version setting and watch the series all the time hehe
And on I think Sexta , on saturdays and sundays , there is this Dogwhisperer show, with Ceasar whatshisname . I translate it into ov as wel and watch it. This tv show is soo cool, this guy can do miracles with all those crazy dogs!!

Don't pay them. Wait until they do it in public to get attention.

Well, we didn't turn on the tv since few months hehehe (because the tv programme sucked). Then we started to pay 2 eur more and got few channels more (cosmo, fox etc) , so now I watch tv a lot. All those old episodes of Sex and the city,Dr House etc - and everything in ov, that's good. But overall spanish providers suck the balls of a bull. We pay already 70 euros for crappy internet (6MB but only on a paper), crashing tv (it turns off every now and then) and phone calls that are free just for nr in Spain. That is sooo expensive for what it is. For half of the prize, you have faster internet and unlimited international calls for free (I'm talking for example France or Germany). Seriously, spanish internet is some kind of luxury or what?

No, the spanish politicians are afraid of technology, and telecommunication companies have arrangements to make the internet awfully expensive.
