LF Bikers to the rescue please

I consider buying a bike after nearly 13 years of abstinence. I used to ride a Suzuki GSXR 750 between 18-20. And then I came to England!

I don't feel confident enough to jump on a big bike right away and I don't have a deathwish, so I am thinking of going for a learners one again. Kawasaki Ninja 250R has come to my attention ([url=http://www.kawasaki.co.uk/Ninja250R]Kawasaki Ninja 250R[/url]) and it seems to get somewhat good reviews. I do seem to recall though hearing of several issues with previous versions some years ago (though perhaps considerably older models).

Any suggestions/insights about this particular model or alternatives?
