If your girlfriend has her period it means she's not pregnant.

it is a question
If it's her "normal" period, then chances are, she's not pregnant......but if it's not a "normal" period for her (shorter than normal, lighter than normal, etc) she COULD be pregnant and experiencing what they call "breakthrough bleeding" or "implantation bleeding". But chances are she's not pregnant....

Damn 15 year olds... She is probably not pregnant, but do yourself a favor: have her start the pill, and YOU wear a condom. That is being responsible, which one really ought to be before they start having sex.
Thank you...I forgot to mention that part!Originally Posted by shh!

Just put it in the pooper, and you won't have to worry
she is 17 and she is on the patch and she has been wearing it for a long time
patch doesnt guarantee 100% birth control... nothing is 100%... not even birth control + condoms...
haha...
Doesn't the patch require changing once a week? Let's hope she has been good about keeping up with that. But still, you should wear a condom. In addition to being an extra form of birth control, it also helps prevent the spread of STDs, and 1 in 4 sexually active teens have an STD.Originally Posted by Iminlove
She changes it every week and then leaves it off the week she has her period like she is supposed to and neither one of us has stds and the patch is 99% effective
Ok....so you have convinced yourself that you won't be that 1% that actually FAILS to work....fine.......so what was the point of starting this thread then?Originally Posted by Iminlove

Ok but there are also studies that (for women over 150lbs) it is not even 99% effective. It actually doesn't work as well. Not saying your gf is fat....but just warning you to be careful.Originally Posted by Iminlove
I know it feels better without a condom....but at your age....its best to double up on protection. I did it a majority of the time ....and I was fine. My friend(same age as me) however relyed on simply Birth control pills, the patch etc...... She has a 5 yr old( YES, she got pregnant at 17) and another kid on the way. My other friend also got pregnant at 17....and now has 3 kids.
Maybe doubling up on protection ISN"T such a bad idea....
Appreciate the good times and learn from the bad times....
99% effective means that out of 100 times you have sex with her, she will only end up pregnant once. I don't know about you, but that is more than I would care to live with at 15.Originally Posted by Iminlove
