    War of the Worlds

    Has anyone seen this?

    Suspenseful, isn't it?

Dakkota Fanning got on my nerves a bit though. arggggh.. i could wring her neck at times..

And Tom Cruise, I don't know. I used to like him, but all that publicity stuff with Katie Holmes just isn't cutting it for me.

Yeah. It was alright. The more I think about the plot though the more it doesn't make sense.

I didn't like it; too much formula for me, and I never did like Tom Cruise, even before all this bad publicity. I rented a foreign film last weekend that was very good - City of God (Miramax Film). I would recommend it highly, but it isn't for the weak-stomached.

tom cruise has lost his wits. i wouldn't see this movie because most remakes i see are bad. bad bad bad. and i hate spending a bunch of money on movies that suck.

City of God is a harsh movie. i just couldn't get it into it at all.

Of course, I was also on the phone, with my back turned to the screen.

That didn't help me understand it either.

I wouldn't have understood what was being said if I had turned my back, since I had to read the subtitles.

For those who haven't seen it, it is about gang wars in the poorest section of Rio De Janeiro, and is extremely violent. It is based on a true story.

Yeah - that was kind of funny (till the husband beat the woman to death). The scene that stuck with me the most was when that little boy was forced to choose which one of his playmates he was going to murder. The kid who was shot looked like he was about 4 or 5.

If you like mind-benders, try "Sheltering Sky" and "Naked Lunch" back to back. I also enjoyed "On Being John Malkovich." But then, I'm a Malkovich fan.

I sort of like John Malkovitch.

My high school english teacher loved J. M. We saw all these movies with him in it, like Death of a Salesman, and some other ones which I don't remember.

Gosh, it's been so long since high school.

brrr. We have a reunion coming up.

I liked it. I thought the ending was a bit sudden.. like 1 hour and 50 minutes was spent on them invading and taking over and then ALL OF A SUDDEN they figure our organisms are too much for them and keel over.

The ending was a let down, but the movie overall I thought wasn't bad.

I agree, the ending was pretty "sudden". but the rest of the movie was quite good, suspensful, and quite dark...much more freakish then a lot of other "invader" movies. Overall I give it a 8 outta 10.

I also saw Fantastic 4, very entertaining movie! *thumbs up*
