    my job crisis...

I know im stealing misombras thread, but i have a somewhat similar situation going on, and it bugging the hell out of me.

First off, im a techie. I do deskside support for a company that has a contract with the almighty GE. A few weeks ago we have "the conference call" basically telling us that we are losing the cotract and that we better start looking for a job. I get a call from my boss right after the call offering me another postion, which is cool. The cutover is on 5/15. My current job is the best, and i would have to say im a bit spoiled. Its 5 mins from my house, and they want to put me in a "management path." So basically they like what i do.

I recently had a review, and did very well, but no raise because i have only been here for 6 months. The offered postion is about an hour away. It would mean driving on the blue route everyday, which im sure Frasbee is familiar with. WHich is my main problem. I didnt accept the job right away, and i said that i wanted to look around. THey said its cool, but that they were gonna post my job out on the net. After 2 days of worrying i agreed to take the position with my current company.

Here's the problem, I have posted my resume, and it looks like im worth more than what im currently making. I've had several phone interviews lined up making almost 15-25% percent more than what im making now.

    Pros with staying
    - A promotion is iminent
    - I have impressed several managers
    - paid cell phone, laptop, and tuition/training reimbursement
    - awesome realtionship with the bosses
    - in the last 6 months i havent had any stress
    - they appreciate me and what i bring to the company
    - great benefits
    - traveling

    Cons
    -commute
-knowing that i could be making more money
    ---------------------------------------

    Pros with moving on
    - more money
    - less of a commute

    Cons
    - would have to prove myself all over again
    - no guranteed promotion
    - have to wait 3 months for benefits
    - transitioning
    - may have a micro-managing boss ... aka - Bll Lumburgh, from Office Space

I know i have to make this decision, but im seriously on the fence. I dont want to be a comple dick to my company. Maybe, i should ask my comapny for a raise??? Or see if these other companies will offer me something i cant refuse???? any sugestions?

it seems as though you are leaning towards to pros on this one and i think you should go with that. if you're feeling something, you might as well take a chance.
