    Having a 'break' in a long-term relationship

Hi guys! I need some advice....I've been thinking about having a 'break' with my current boyfriend of 5 years to meet other people and just be single but at the same time I don't want to lose him. I am only 22 and have not really been single since i was 15. So i was wondering if any of you have had an experience like this and just wanted a break from your long-term partner and if you have any advice on how to approach the situation. Thanks everyone!

why would u want a break in a relationship?

u do meet other people but if u want to date other people then u r better asking him.
i still dont get why u would want to leave him even for a little time!!!

I can comment on that. I've been in a long term relationship before where I needed a break. Sometimes, you need just a bit of time when you've been with someone a while, to rethink somethings and experience being single for a little bit to make sure what you are feeling for that person is the real deal, etc. Sometimes you have to be alone for a very short period of time to get some real thinking done.

I'd say explain to him what you feel, and if you two are as close as I would think, everything should be ok. Just be honest with him.
