Buying a ring (quick question)

I am about to buy a ring for my love. First of all... How would I go about finding her ring size without her suspecting anything? Secondly... (for the women) just in your opinion, do you prefer white gold, or yellow gold?

I agree. It might be possible to find out her ring size without her knowing it, but it's unlikely.

If you can get ahold of one of her rings, trace it onto a piece of paper and take it with you to the store.

If she likes gold, she'll already have some. If she doesn't have any, get her white gold. It's beautiful.

It's all been said, but find out what she likes - lots of girls don't like surprises. My sister is really laid-back, but she was very picky about what kind of ring she wanted. She even emailed me a few pictures and said "if he asks you... I like these".
At the very least, bring someone else she is close to (like a sister) to help pick out the ring.
