How Long Would You Wait?

Background Info:
Alright, so I'm a 16 year old guy, in the middle of high school, but I am good friends with a girl who is 14. My parents said that they are OK with me asking her on dates, but after asking her parents (who are very conservative when it comes to dating), they told me that, although they do not dislike me and respect that I asked them about it, they don't want her dating until she can handle a committed relationship. I'm guessing that's a good 3 years off, and a lot will change in those 3 years, including me going off to college.

So the question is:
How long would you wait for somebody? Do you think I should move on, or wait out the storm in hopes of a relationship on the other side? Thanks

Move on get some experience with others girls and who knows maybe your ways will cross again. You are young should be enjoying life not waiting happiness to come to you.
