help w/ Perfume for xmas gift

My g/f wants some perfume for xmas, Juicy Couture. It is available at sephora.com What I don't understand is what is the difference between the $300 1 oz Parfum and the $85 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum.

Can you explain it to me. The $300 bottle is totally out of the question, originally I thought the $85 bottle was the same product but smaller until I realized that they had a different name.

Can anybody tell me the difference between the two. Will she be disappointed if I buy her the Eau de Parfum?

The difference is concentration. Eau de parfum is much more watered-down. This is probably a good thing, as perfume is stinky and most people wear too much of it.

I don't think I could ever buy perfume for a girl.

Well...actually...nevermind, I could cause this one kind of shampoo Ames used to use drove me wild.

She stopped using it when old men started telling her she smelled "purty".

EDIT: Oddly enough, it was the Herbal Essences.

She just bought it 'cause it was cheap.

I love Herbal Essences! But, they changed it recently. Still smells good, but I liked the other stuff better.

Haha, yeah the fruity stuff was good! Now it smells more coconuty. Its good, but not as good. I would use the kiwi stuff and I got so many compliments. They just don't make it anymore

She specifically asked you for it? That would be a huge red flag to me.

It could, but what if it is the only thing she asked for Christmas? In my view I would get the $85 dollar one if this was the only thing asked for.

Sorry, she never actually asked me to get it for her. She has told me several times that she doesn't want me to buy her anything. But I was on the computer, she was reading one of her In Style magazines, asked me to look up that brand, she put the sample on herself and she really like it and said she wanted it.

I put 2 and 2 together and implied that she asked for it. I know that she really wants the perfume. I didn't realize the $85 was a watered down version which is perfect. She'll be happy with that. I just didn't want to buy something that was a different product and have her disappointed I got the wrong thing.
