    How do I flirt?

    Hello,
This is my first post here, please bear with me.

I have a japanese student in a US college.I have burried my nose under books in the last four years. Now I am a senior in college, but I have never had a boyfriend.
My question is how do I start showing my interest on guys? ( I think most guy would think I am very focused in academic, but how do I let them know that I am open to get to know them?)

    Thank you.

It's ussually a lot easier for girls than it is for guys. Generally just look at them, smile and look pretty.

Most of the ones who are not braindead should be able to pick up on that.

P.S. Don't forget to laugh at their jokes and recipricate to their flirting.

Get your girlfriends to help you. Maybe they can set you up with somebody.

I don't think it is any easier for girls than it is for guys.

Anyway, I like the idea of friends setting you up, but in addition, you should try getting out to more social situations. And yes, smile a LOT. Males will not approach you if they think they will be shot down.

I think it is definitely harder for guys, but I am one so I wouldn't really know. A guy has to be charming, witty, and romantic. All a girl has to do is smile. And if you wink, that's like throwing a steak in front of us.

Girls have to figure out how to get the guy they are INTERESTED in talking to to approach them (without looking like they are advertising) while keeping the guys they AREN'T interested in from approaching without hurting their feelings. Guys aren't always that intuitive, which makes it hard.

Granted, guys generally do the asking out, but they don't if we don't send out the signals.

    Wow

That's so much hard work, compared to guys. Women have to slave away at figuring out how to reject guys and get the top branch cherry tree guys (who are probably already taken) to show interest in them.

While all guys have to do, is figure out women, be good looking, have a good sense of humour, be aggressive, but only to a point that a woman finds acceptable, read all woman's signs on how to approach them, be intelligent, sensual, interesting, rich and a complete woman's fairy tale.

    WIN

The world would be such an easy place to live in if everyone was just incredily blunt with each other insted of all this "sending out signs" bull.

Guys get confused too you know! (not directed at anyone just a statement)

Oh, boo hoo! Stop whining, Mish. No one said you had to be all those things. Women don't ALL go for the same sort of guy. Besides, do you think all men are approaching the plain Janes? Do you think we don't have to worry about appearances and being perfect, too?

If you guys REALLY want something to whine about, try pushing a bowling ball through your urethra.

Ofcourse women have to worry about apperances too, just like guys. But they don't have to worry about aproaching. They don't have to worry about going through rejections dozens and dozens of times over and over again. They can just stand there and look pretty and that's about it. Put the most amazing looking guy with the best qualities out there, to stand and look pretty and all he'll have by the end of the night is a bunch of gay men offering to buy him a drink.

Oh, my God. If you had any idea... not only do you have to know how to graciously decline, but how to gauge the danger level present, because some men actually think it's sexy to refuse to take no for an answer. These are the kind of men who say, "You know you want it" while they're raping you.

Still sure we've got it easy?

    Giga, Love

I sometimes dream at night having problems like that. Anyone who posses danger would have an affair with my fist, but there aren't many people like that out there (who would actually try to rape you) so there's close to nothing to worry about. It's like being afraid to cross the street for fear of being run over by a bus, even though people do get run over by a bus sometimes. You don't stop crossing the street or develop irrational fear of all bus drivers who are out to get you.

Men don't reject company unless it's from someone so obviously aggressive or unreasonable that we feel like punching them out. Approach and keep us company all you want, we are not going to decline or reject you for most of the time. It's called being friendly. Whether there's some date potential, or some chemistry that's for the future to worry about. (And when I say we, I refer to me and other guys I know, I'm sure this may not apply to everyone in the deep Congo region).

LOL, you sound bitter Mish. Well, sauce for the goose, I suppose:

All women have to do is figure out men (this involves throwing steaks, ha), be good looking, have a good sense of humour, be assertive, but only to a point that a man finds acceptable, read all man's signs that they need looking after/their ego's stoked, be receptive, intelligent, sensual (but not slutty), interesting, good with money, good with kids, and a complete man's pornographic fantasy while looking after them at least as well as mommy did.

Let me know if I missed anything.

You didn't miss, you listed too many Indi.

A woman doesn't need all of that for me to approach her. Even to date her. Even to be in a relationship with her.

    Top two qualities:

    1. Look decent (So I can be attracted to you)
    2. Be a good person (I.e. be kind and don't hurt others)

All the other qualities are irrelevant provided the above two are satisfied. Everything else can be worked out in one way or the other.
