How many dates, do you usually have before you decide that your going to have a serious relationship? is there an average number, or does it just happen?

Traditionally, three is a good number to get a good idea of what the person is really like. Getting serious should go slowly, though. Serious, to me, leads to marriage.

There is no limit on how many dates you can have before making it official but it normally takes a few dates so that you can get to know the person more.
You will know when the time is right. Jast go with the flow and let things naturally happen.

What do you consider "serious"? Is that the point when you'd be hurt if they were dating someone else? I don't know the exact timing, but generally it progresses as follows:
casual dating
exclusive dating
serious relationship
married
Then of course, if you are bitter, you can add in the following:
cheating
divorce
start from scratch
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
