The highway is backed up so I took an alternate root home. Didn't realize it flooded, though I wasn't surprised since this is New Orleans. I made it through most of it, but just as I was about to get out of it, I started to increase my speed (10 mph MAX), and water built up on my front end and must've slipped under the hood.
The engine turned but wouldn't start, so I had to get it towed.
The guy at the shop said it might be a bad cylinder head, which after some research only makes sense to me if the water jet cooled the engine too-quickly and caused it to crack. I hope to god that ain't the case though, since looking on-line that part would cost at least 600-700 dollars, and you know they'd mark it up further for profit. I had just put 400 in maintenance last month, and put in about 1300 in maintenance when I first got it back in May.
I'm really hoping that's not what went wrong, but the guy that's actually working on it hasn't gotten back to me, so it looks like I'll be borrowing my g/f's Ford Ranger tomorrow as well.
I'm sick of New Orleans, and a bit mad at myself.
Next vehicle I buy will be a truck.
