God Reminder To All Mummy Dearest...
I ran into a stranger.
"Oh excuse me, please," I said.
We were very polite. We went
our way saying goodbye.
Later that day, cooking the evening
meal, my son stood beside me very
still. When I turned, I nearly knocked
him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with
a frown.
He walked away, his little heart
broken. I didn't realise how harshly
I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed, God's small
voice came to me and said, "While
dealing with a stranger, common courtesy
you use, but the family you love, you
seem to abuse.
"Go and look in the kitchen, you'll
find some flowers bu the door. Those
are flowers he bought for you.
"He stood very quietly not to
spoil the surprise, you never saw
the tears in his eyes."
I felt very small. I quietly went
and knelt by his bed.
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for
the way I acted. I shouldn't have
yelled at you.
My son said, "Oh, mummy dearest,
that's okay. I love you anyway."
That was seven years ago before
my son passed-away on the eve of
his birthday due to an accident in
his school.
Today his birthday, I'm holding the
same kind of flowers he first bought
for me.
