My Girlfriend and her ex ! is this normal ?? :(

Hey guys. I would love some peoples opinions on this.

My Girlfriend is going out for drinks with her ex and friends and they seem to be chatting quite a bit on the good old facebook.
He was telling her that his relationship is coming to an end and asking about the relationships she is in with me. "Hows it going with your boy ?" .....
I kinda looked at the screen and saw it.

She has invited me along for when she meets him , however i feel a little awkward, protective etc and kinda feel a bit threatend buy the thought of her mabye liking him again even though she loves me.

Is it normal to meet with your ex?
Am i insecure ?
Anyone else been in that situation?

Please give me your thoughts/experiences
