she rejected you but did the whole "talk to you soon/lets be friends" thing right? 2 months ago i got a new job, and asked a girl out during my last week of my old job. She said no because I was 21 and she is 22 (i dont know if that is the truth, but thats what she said to me as her reason). I then defriended her on facebook, havent sent her any text messages, etc.

A few days ago i stopped back in to my old job to talk to some other coworkers and they said how she is sad because she doesnt have any contact with me anymore. I didnt really say anything about it because i was pretty hurt still, and i didnt know how much they knew about the situation.

Am i being a jerk?

No, you are not a jerk. You don't owe her any communication. You aren't being deliberately cruel or going out of your way to be mean. Do whatever you must to get your head back on straight. No contact is the time-proven way of doing this most efficiently. In fact, it sounds like she has been disrespecting boundaries by talking to other people about you. THAT is disrespectful.

i guess im just frustrated by it. I just feel if that was the reason why she didnt want to go out with me, then we probably werent really even friends.

Let's be friends from a girl is usually either 1. a way to keep you hanging around to give her attention and prevent you from finding another GF, 2. a cowardly way to say she's prefer not to interact with you.

Don't be bitter, tho. Its just pretty normal for her age, which is still quite young.

ya i figured as such. it was so frustrating thinkin that maybe i could start a relationship with her but the entire time viewed me like some kid
