Girlfriend lied to me about texting another guy

My girlfriend and I have been going out for 6 and a half months now, She is 19 and i'm 21. She says she adores me, can't see herself with anyone else, wants to marry me. I feel that lately our 'honeymoon phase' has worn off and now we're starting to fight a lot more, anyway the day of her birthday we're in bed and she says "i've got something to tell you, i've been texting (...)" under my girlfriends name (in the address book) for the last week...

Her excuse was that she didn't want me to get angry- as she was texting him whilst we were shopping together it does bother me when guys text her.

She insisted the whole time we've been together that she has no attraction to this guy at all, and he is just a friend and will always be a friend - she has known him for longer than me. However this guy really likes her....and he used to text her all the time and they've had sex before. He even tried to break us up..and tried to convince her that I was the worst boyfriend ever.

She also messages another guy friend over facebook almost everytime she gets on to facebook, absolutely drives me insane. I really like the girl but I feel that this is the cause of all our arguments, and she keeps trying to tell me that it's hard to let go of guys she was so close too.

We live together also, She's very insecure about herself and has a really low self-esteem, also she was badly hurt and cheated on in her last relationship. Also she has had a lot of trouble with her family in the past, as they divorced when she was 15.

I have no idea what to do, I really like the girl and everyone thinks we're a really good couple.

I still feel a bit betrayed by what has happened though...Should I give her another chance?
