Age matters on maturity level and chemistry. If those are both in the bag, you're alright. Depends on how the other reacts in social environments with you. Are you hanging out with his friends, is he with yours? Meeting families? How serious of a relationship? Where do you want to be with this person / where are you with this person? Do you both have similar plans for this relationship? These commonalities are more rare in relationships with further gaps. They do happen though.

Physical age does not matter. What matters is how compatible you two are, what things you have in common, and do you view the world in the same way? You might want to answer these questions:
- How do each of you view money, spending money, and saving for the future?
- How do each of you view children and marriage? Do you want to get married? Do you want children?
- How do each of you view sex? How much sex is the minimum needed each week? How much is enough to make you happy?
