Thing is, you might not be outgoing enough, sometimes i guess no matter what kind of girl, likes a man that would take initiative but be gentle and aware about her feelings too?.. it's weird.. girls want "perfection" and sometimes *cough* MOST OF THE TIME expect the guy to go from manly to delicate in a flip of a light switch.

I met a guy and we hit it off really great. He refused to be put in the friend zone and made it really clear. after a week or so of having a great time with him he gave me an ultimatum: either we date or he's gone, all or nothing, choose now. he had been put in the friend zone way too many times and he said he cant talk to me or anything because no matter what he'll fall for me and he refuses to go through it again. So I felt like i wanted a little bit more time to know him but I accepted. we live together now and have been dating 2 years.

You have to understand that "friend zone" is female-talk for "trophy room."

A girl calls you "friend" when she has your testicles stuffed and mounted on a plaque that hangs in the dark place in her little mind where she keeps similar mementos of every decent guy who was stupid enough to invest emotion in her.

This is why you'll often hear girls say that they "want a nice guy." It's absolutely true. A typical girl wants him for his skin and ivory, and so that she can display his flayed carcass to all her girlfriends as proof that she is really, really hot 'n cool.

There's active competition in the female world for Nice Guy pelts, and a fellow who is truly polite and considerate, who deeply respects women, and who does everything he can to make a girl happy and comfortable can easily find a piece of his soul displayed as the centerpiece of a dozen or more "friend zone" collections... before he finally shoots himself in despair.
