I don't think being quiet is so bad, as long as you don't make it hard for people to speak with you by answering questions with single word replies, etc. I think most girls don't mind making a bit of effort so long as a guy is willing to meet them half-way.

people have this nasty habit of talking way too much and giving up soooo much info. it really can be annoying but then again if you are to quiet then that sucks its not the quanity its the quality

it really depends..

There's a handsome brooding mysterious (Angel-esque, if any of you are familiar with the tv show..) kind of quiet guy.
Or there's the.. you-asked-a-question-and-he-wont-say-anything type of quiet guy.

There's one guy in my class who I certainly wish was quiet. For one minute? Please? I'm trying to cram in 1 week of studying into 1 hour. Please let him install a filter between his brain and his mouth and be quiet for one blissful minute...

but I digress.
I think a guy should be able to talk at least a little.
He also needs to interact a bit when I want to talk. That is, not just sit there completely still like he doesn't really care.

You see when im with a girl i tend to listen more than i talk. I also stare at her eyes for about a second or two if she stares back i stare a bit longer. if it gets uncomfortable change the subject.

I like quiet guys, to an extent.
I'm sometimes in a quiet mode myself so they don't really bother me. What would bother me is going out to dinner with a quiet guy and having to go into overdrive in conversation, to constantly think of topics to discuss. As long as I can enjoy my time with them, then they are perfectly fine with me.

Girls like shy guys. It gives us more to explore about someone. If you end up with a loud mouth that tells you everything from his last meal to how many women he's slept with, I personally am put off.

shy guy....but sometimes girls want guys to take action. If the shy guy has a high chance to ask a girl out, the opportunity might fade away if he is still shy to make a move.
