I saw that in Munich on a freezing winter night. I was walking around feeling lonely and a bit sorry for myself so I walked into a cinema and saw whatever happened to be on.

The whole thing was dubbed in German, but it didn't matter. I really loved the movie. I've read the book as well since then (not bad, but not as good as the film, I think). That movie really cheered me up.

There comes a point (1/3 - 1/2 the way through) where you can't put it down, so be warned. I ended up staying up till around 4:00 a.m. to finish it, and then I dreamed about it afterwards.

that's how i felt about pillars of the earth.

the first part kinda drags on, once you're about 1/3 of the way through i was hooked and totally unable to put the book down.

Just makes you think about things.

Good movie.
