    American History X

Well... in attempts to wind down from a long night of work... I decided to watch this movie for the one billionth time...

I still like it. Edward Norton is brilliant. Not to mention it does touch on alot of the stuff that goes on in the neo-nazi world. If you can get past all the cussing, and racism and such it's really good.

I saw it the other nite. I hadnt seen it in a while and it was just so sad you know
It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, a day to love someone - but it takes a lifetime to forget someone"

I really liked this movie. Sick to think there's people out there like that, though.

i know. There are tons of people out there.. and even where i go to school, there's quite alot.

some people aren't AS extreme, but are in it cause they are probably confused and looking for something to fit into.... and others are hardcore.. I don't think there is a "in between"

it is a sick thought... especially being from Philadelphia, and hearing about all the stuff that went on in the 70's and 80's to people when i moved down here is scary

Neo-nazis make my skin crawl, but yeah, this was a well-made movie. Hard to watch, though. Some people really seem to love the ugliness of their hate-filled lives.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

There are strong racist thoughts in it... There is more hatred DISPLAYED towards african americans in this movie than there is towards others... But it was about the hatred overall though

I don't understand people who think like that.

I've always seen people with that kind of mentality (from any race) as either extremely undereducated or insecure. Maybe both.

Very often they are poor, too. People who are poor like to have someone to blame for their lack of good fortune. For example, neo nazis blame Jews for "holding them down" and blame hispanics for working too cheap, some blacks blame whites for their misfortunes, etc.

well some make sense... But some should kinda just give up that stuff... Blaming doesn't work... But yeah, illegal immigrants do work too cheap. And a number of those are hispanic. Some black people have trouble with white people not giving them jobs, not giving them chances to move further into the business, etc... I can't really say anything about the jewish thing... But there is some kind of truth in certain cases, but other than that.. most of the hate out there is bull

I think the point of the movie is to make you confront the reality of racism not get over it. But it is a great movie, I havent seen it in years but every now and again I see the curb scene. Anyone who has seen the movie knows right off what scene that is! eeeewwwww

Just remember one thing when watching that movie.

Neo-nazis are NOT synonymous with skinheads.
