This is related to a post on another thread. "Meeting the parents". Is it a big deal to meet someone's parents/family? I love for my friends to meet my family, hang out at my house etc. I did wonder though, why some friends would always insist on meeting outside at the mall etc.

Is it such a big deal to meet the folks? In the same way, would it be considered serious if your date wanted you to meet his/her parents, siblings, extended family etc etc?

Its actually an awesome idea to meet the parents when dating and if you show the parents that your a good guy, youll have their trust.

parents.. i would love for my friends to meet my parents, even my dates. just want my parents to get used to the idea of me dating, although it gives my mother a heart attack because then she'd think every person i bring to the house is my date --- this is because i told them i was a lesbian once (even though I wasn't).
