I was sitting with my friends in my school's cafeteria shooting the bull when I look up and saw a girl I'm in love with about 15ft away facing the table I'm sitting at. Her two friends are standing behind her saying something to her and looking in my direction. One of them nodded in my direction. She said something back and then they looked at her, then back at me, then they turned around and took a few steps away.

I'm watching this whole thing and at this point our eyes meet, then she smiled, we did our usual awkward wave and quiet greet then she turned to her friends and left.

This probably just wishful thinking but it seemed like her friends were trying to get her to talk to me. We are both incredibly shy and to my knowledge she hasn't expressed any romantic interest in me.

What do you think? Am I just imagining things?

Probably. When we are infatuated with others, we overemphasize any signals that corroborate our feelings. She could say "hi" to you randomly in the halls, not meaning anything by it, and you would want to interpret it as a flirtatious gesture.

That's not to say that you shouldn't pursue it. Talk to her.
