    ?????

My rationale is that human life > financial profit. I'm allowed opinions on the subject. Who are you to decide free roads are better than free healthcare? See, the argument goes both ways. These are all just opinions as you well know.
You don't have to defend your beliefs. I never said you were wrong. You claimed I was wrong. So I'm asking who's to say that you are right.

Am I religious? No. Is it revelant? Not to me. Why is it relevant to you?
Because you have a tinge of righteousness in your tone. And usually people that claim that they have the moral high ground on issues tend to be religious. I guess I was wrong in this regard.

How that's a problem too. My country has 40 mln of citizens. It's hard to imagine that so many people in such a 'rich country' may have nothing to eat.

Maybe this sounds socialistic,but... If every person on the world who has more than a 1 million $ on their account ,would give just 100 bucks (come on it's nothing comparing to 1 million) for poor people allover the world, there would be no people suffer from hunger... But let's be honest. Normal people with average salary are ready to give more to poor people than those really really rich peope who really don't need that much... It's sad... They could solve so many problems giving so few... Sad sad
The rich are far more philanthropic than the average person. Bill Gates even has a foundation for this.

But your argument is relative. You can say people with a million bucks should give a 100. But no matter how bad you're doing right now, I'm pretty sure you're a thousand times better off than people in Africa. Why don't you give your money to them.

You can say rich people can stop spending their money on overly expensive things. I can say you don't need an ipod or anything else you own that isn't necessary for your survival.

    It's all relative.

We are your largest trading partner. It is impossible that a rise in the Canadian dollar doesn't hurt your import industry. I only made that comment because I remember last year when your dollar rose, paper mill workers got laid off.

I didn't mean that we single-handedly ruined your economy, but we played a part in it.

Exports are only a fraction of a country's economy.

I'm not really the type of person who needs to wrestle others into seeing things my way. The righteousness may just come from the passion that I feel about the issue.

Your arguments are intelligent. And you seem to be willing to be conciliatory. I'm actually hoping I didn't come off as being too hard on you. And if I did, I'm sorry.
