there doesn't have to be a specific reason to drink. you drink because you want to. hrmm... i think that lately i've been drinking too much. but that is a natural thing.

Some members of the forum simply choose not to drink also.

I was one, but I guess now I'm not completely a non-drinker. I've relaxed my stance for the sake of pleasing others. I still am not a drinker..I don't feel the urge to order me up a beer or alcoholic drink, but if a friend I really care about is quite insistant upon me having a beer with him, I'll join him for one...and did.

In my vacation last week I joined my friends and had my first full beer. I though it tasted like crap.

I also had my second full beer a few days later. I thought this one, too, tasted like crap.

So if I ever grow to like it, I'll have to acquire the taste, as other friends suggested...also as other friends suggested, they don't drink for it's taste, but rather for the effects.

Ah, well, I don't know when, but some day I'll try to go for the buzzed effect, just to check it off the list. I'm also thinking that some day I'll try getting high off marijuana, either smoke or brownies! But not now cuz they'd fire me from my job.

There's things I know I don't want to try, like cocaine. That's too freaky. So in a way, I hate to admit it, but I'm driven by the mainstream. I'll try things that the majority of the population has tried: alcohol, soft drug marijuana. Harder drugs, well, less people are into them so there's less pressure. Also, there's the big issue of addiction..and that would actually lead me to not try something, probably...

it seems that a lot of the general thread turn into a discussion about drinking. tsk tsk tsk.. i'm surrounded by alcoholics.

however, as for beer, i started with budlight because it's what everyone drank. now i can't even drink budlight, it only tastes like water to me. i love heineken, but when you have it on draft, it's also like water. sam adams on draft is krypt. as for japanese beer, i will stick with my kirin.
