How many people find that funny?
You aren't following the point. I was (and still am) skeptical about the truth of this story. Based solely on the numbers, which I posted, it is unlikely. Rape (of women) in these societies is very common and, if not encouraged, it is certainly not made a big deal of. You are imposing western right/wrong standards to a society that doesn't care about such. Have you ever lived outside the US?

In other words, your outrage is misplaced. Be outraged about the lack of birth control and education. The rest will follow.

    and we continue with:

Reports have emerged that five men have been arrested in Zimbabwe on suspicion of engaging in homosexual sex.

A 55-year-old white male and four younger black “accomplices,” ages not yet released, were arrested in Harare on allegations of committing sexual immorality, it emerged Tuesday.

Yes, I have. I've lived in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, and visited many other countries including yours.

Your skepticism is sexism, IMNSHO. You have a false belief that it's impossible for a man to be raped, even if you pay lip service to the notion that it's not.

Is rape far more common for women? Of course it is. Rape of women pisses me off too. I just fail to see why it's somehow funny if it happens to a man.

No, I don't have a false belief. In fact I posted data saying exactly that. You are just (deliberately?) misunderstanding my point.

I also never said it was funny. Just that the story is unlikely. Do you actually believe everything you read in the media?

LOL! These are westernized countries. Exactly my point. You haven't seen true squalor. Our western rules don't apply to places like S.Asia, Central Africa even parts of South Am and China.

No, I generally check multiple news sources and try to determine whether or not they ultimately stem from the same source. Interestingly enough, the most suspect news I find is from third world countries and the U.S.

It sure as hell seemed to me that you were defending the half-wits in here that appear to find the notion funny. Perhaps I was wrong.

If you are going to bother getting upset tho HIA (as opposed to just wanting to argue), make it productive. I already said what the actual issues are:

    1. The real issue for emerging economies is lack of education, especially for women. Sorry, but that's the truth. As long as women continue to be raped and bear children to continue the cycle of squalor, conditions won't improve.
    2. Our news is plagued by yellow journalism.

While I applaud your attempts to get your news from multiple sources, that's not even enough these days b/c of the nature of how news is acquired and disseminated. You are most likely wasting your time.

Thanks for not being a dumbass

I think young boys can be molested and raped but the idea of full grown, strong men being raped is unlikely. Don't men have to get hard to truly be raped?

Not that i find it funny BUT why is it not ok to find it laughable when tons of people on here seem to think having sex with prostitutes is totally ok? Don't people know by now that women are exploited, abused, and assaulted in the sex industry daily EVERYWHERE, in EVERY country? Hmmmm.....smells like......................HYPOCRISY. BTW this is not directed at anyone in particular so plz don't be offended.
