You can't judge somebody because they got a divorce. That means like almost every person in America over 40 is no good.

I give him credit for being a good dad. One of my favorite games with my girlfriends is trading stories about the longest we went without seeing our fathers. I know this guy isn't one of those. I think that means a lot.

yes, because you didn't have one. But.. you assume he's a good dad because he has photos of them in his wallet and because he goes to see them in NY. All that means (so far) is that he has photos and visits (which is more than what your dad took the trouble to do). ... that in no way automatically makes him a good partner.
